Isiah Roberts

Trainer

My Story

Hello, my name is Isiah Jonathan Lee Roberts, and I co-run The Best Don’t Rest MMA. I have trained in a number of disciplines, including MMA, Japanese Ju Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, and catch wrestling.

I have trained in Japanese Ju Jitsu for 18 years, reaching the rank of 1st Dan black belt. I have grown under teachers like Sensei Adam Roberts, Shihan Warren Holdway, and others, who helped me progress from an inexperienced student into a teacher and co-owner of our Japanese Ju Jitsu branch. I’ve also been fortunate enough to train with other branches of the AJJ (Australian Japanese Ju Jitsu Association), working alongside Shihan John Beckman, Shihan Al Bendric, and other Shihans from schools across Australia.

Throughout my Japanese Ju Jitsu training, I have practiced with a number of weapons, including, but not limited to, the long sword, manriki chain, batons/short sticks, and the bo staff.

I have been training in MMA for 16 years and have learned to master and improve both my grappling ability and striking, studying under Grand Master Daniel Cunningham and Sensei Adam Lee Roberts.
